The number Phi, according to some, is intrinsic in forms of beauty and balance. It can be detected in the best designs, including architecture, art and life itself. Now it may be that in some extreme cases excitable people are overanalyzing and finding Phi where it doesn't necessarily exist, but it's at least obvious that Phi is part of the best designs in nature, e.g. phyllotaxis, and is highly regarded by architects and artists, e.g. the Golden Mean.
